| Ray Isaac's - Biography | ||||||||||||
Guitarist Ray Isaacs (aka. Antonitas D' Havila) is internationally recognized as one of the world's finest Flamenco players. Born in England of Gypsy ancestry in 1949, he was first introduced as a child to the guitar by his father. Inspired by other great Flamenco players, he perfected his technique while living and concertizing throughout Spain and the south of France. At the age of twenty, he was signed on to RCA Records and has since produced numerous Flamenco discs. A fiercely independent artist, he plays over 100 different Flamenco variations of his own creation. The critics rave about his bravado style. Here is what Guitar Player magazine had to say about him: " Antonitas D'Havila (Ray Isaacs) is a descendant of Gypsies, and his music shows that some of their flair was passed down to him; it is vented through his excellence on the Flamenco guitar." In addition to his Flamenco repertoire, Mr. Isaacs has produced several discs in styles varying from Rock to Middle of the road, including a guitar and orchestra classic co-production with Paul Zaza. Recital tours have included concerts throughout Europe and North America, including Carnegie Hall, and he is featured throughout the world in concert and on films, commercials, radio and on television. |
